Owner Thomas Patriss was born and raised in New York, where hair was part of his life from an early age. His great-grandfather came to America from Italy and built a life for his family as a barber in New York City. A generation later, Thomas’s mother continued that tradition, opening her own salon on Long Island.
Growing up around the salon, Thomas developed an appreciation for the artistry, precision, and personal connection behind great hair. That early influence became a career spanning decades as a stylist and educator, and ultimately inspired Thomas and his wife, Marie, to create Radici Hair Studio in Del Mar.
Radici means “roots” in Italian, a name chosen to honor the family history that started it all. Today, those roots can be felt throughout the salon—from its character and design to the craftsmanship and attention to detail behind every client experience.
